We do not directly display ads on our site. The only displays of this kind are for links to other sites which either may give us a donation if you click on the banners or which have information that is adjunctive to the information on this web site. These links/banner ads may contain cookies and or web beacons.  While we do not use cookies in other parts of our Web site, cookies received with aforementioned banner ads are collected by the outside site, and we do not have access to this information.  If you are disturbed by cookies we recommend regularly running a spyware program which will clear your machine of cookies and web beacons you may inadvertently pick up while surfing the net (or while reading your mail - especially on AOL).

Two free programs to rid your computer of these spybots and which are highly recommended by technical newsletters are Spybot Search and Destroy and AdAware.  AdAware is an easier program to use but does not do as complete a job as Spybot does.  If you choose to use such a program we highly recommend that you update it at least weekly..  The National Coalition of Mental Health Professionals and Consumers, Inc. and its associates, members, members of the board of directors and anyone else connected to the organization in a any manner whatsoever only suggest you consider installing spyware protection software on your computer.  If you choose to do so we assume no liability for any problems the recommended program(s) might cause.  Any and all liability for such lies solely with the developers of the programs.
